Established in 1988 and trading as LUME SYSTEMS NZ Ltd., Unipro has travelled an interesting path. Originally owned and operated by Tauranga based Dominion Industrial Electrical Wholesalers, the company had a name change in 1997 to UNIPRO and subsequently sold in 2003. UNIPRO is completely independently owned and operated by Kiwis.

We have taken a step back, evaluated where we have been and really got down to the core of our business. Now a stronger and more resilient business, we have refined our product base and are adding complementary lines to our world class products that we are justifiably proud of.

There are two shareholders, Terry Boubee and Barry Raynes, both registered electricians who have a wide range of experience in the Industrial Electrical field. Terry successfully runs a property development company in partnership and also has a large electrical contracting business in the Waikato / Bay of Plenty.

Barry has spent most of his electrical working life in the Whakatane / Kawerau region and has a vast knowledge of the timber and paper milling industries.

There are three fulltime employees and two agency representatives.

Rhys Evans is our Import/Warehouse Manager. He has been with the company for the past 10 years. He has a long history in the electrical field and is the person you are most likely to talk to when you ring us on the phone. He is totally familiar with our stock and can advise of alternative options to solutions that you may not have already thought of. Community minded, Rhys is involved with the administration of his local club and enjoys horse racing and the socialising that goes with it.

John Stewart is our Auckland, upper North and lower North Island Representative. He has been involved with electrical sales throughout the North Island and Auckland area especially, for many years. A keen golfer, there is probably no one in the North Island electrical industry today that has not met him or does not know him.

Ron Campbell is our South Island Representative. He has been involved for many years in the electrical industry and travels the whole of the South Island to meet your needs. He also has a keen interest in motor sports.

Primarily, we communicate directly with our customers and therefore we understand their needs and we don’t mind spending time and utilizing good old Kiwi ingenuity to find solutions for you. We pride ourselves on our customer service.
